What is a CSA?

A "CSA" or Community Supported Agriculture, is an alternative, locally based economic model of agriculture and food distribution. CSA members or subscribers pay at the beginning of the growing season for a share of the anticipated harvest, and once harvesting begins, members receive food crates or “shares” weekly throughout the season. Generally these shares consist of produce grown on Ontario farms, but also offering feature items such as eggs, milk, honey, etc.
